YOU WILL NEED:

• HDPE Plastic Bottle
• Balloons
• 1 teaspoon of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
• 3 Tablespoons of Acetic Acid 6%
• Funnel

STEP 1

Using the funnel, add the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate to each balloon. (Top Tip: It may be best to use two people for this experiment: one person to hold the balloon open and the other person to put the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate inside of the balloon).

STEP 2

Pour 3 Tablespoons of Acetic Acid 6% into the bottle.

STEP 3

Carefully fit the balloon over the bottle opening. (Make sure not to drop the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate into the Acetic Acid 6% yet, take extra care when completing this step).

STEP 4

Once the balloon is fitted on the nozzle, hold up the balloon and allow the Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate to fall into the Acetic Acid 6%.

STEP 5

Watch the balloon inflate! Start again and carry on with this step until you have as many balloons as you want!
