Cleaning the patio may take a small amount of effort but not only is it simple to do – it also makes a big difference to the way your home looks and feels.

SAFETY:

• Protective clothing such as gloves, googles and boots should be worn at all times when handling chemicals.
• Before you start, it’s a good idea to carry out a patch test on a small part of the patio to determine the effect of the chemical and if you may need to add more water to your chosen patio and size.
• Always store chemicals out of reach of pets and children.

YOU WILL NEED:

• Sweeping Brush
• Bucket
• Sodium Hypochlorite 14%
• Distilled Water
• Mop
• Stiff-bristled brush

CLEANING CONCRETE OR STONE PATIOS

STEP 1

Move furniture, plants and other items away from the patio. This will allow you to work without any obstructions.

STEP 2

Use a sweeping brush to sweep away any dirt, leaves and anything on the surface of the floor.

STEP 3

Dilute the Sodium Hypochlorite 14% in a bucket with 6 parts Distilled Water.

**Please make a note to add the Sodium Hypochlorite 14% to the Distilled Water not the other way around**

Using a mop, apply the solution by dipping the mop into the bucket and letting any excess solution drip off. Rub your mop over a small area and work in small sections so you can cover as much of the floor with the solution as possible.

STEP 4

Using a stiff-bristled brush, scrub the floor in gentle and circular motions to lift the stains. **Please note – make sure to do this gentle and in small sections to avoid discolouring or damaging your floor**

STEP 5

Leave on for a few minutes. You should see the solution work within minutes.

STEP 6

Using a power washer, begin to take the solution off. Continue until all the solution is gone from the patio. If you don’t have a power washer, use a bucket and add water and rinse by pouring the water.
